Fogarty
Family History Pages

Castle
Fogarty, near Thurles in Co Tipperary
This is more about my genealogical search into my Irish family roots - so the
links relate to that topic.

 | My
Home Page on Family Tree Maker - this is a page I set-up some time ago
hoping some else might be able to tell me more about my Great Grandfather,
John Fogarty who died in Belfast in 1894. To date it sadly hasn't
generated much interest - let alone any useful information about the origins
of John. Family gossip has it that he was born in Borrisoleigh in Co
Tipperary and had two brothers, James and Denis.
|
 | My Descendants Tree
- this tree shows the descendants of Edmund Fogarty, who appears to be the
father of my Great Grandfather, John Fogarty. I say "appears" since I
have not established beyond doubt that John was his son. The significant
facts being that Edmund had three sons whose names match what is known about
John and his brothers. The baptism dates also appears to be around the
right time, and Edmund family was born in Borrisoleigh, Co Tipperary.

 | Report on the Fogartys of
Antrim - at least what I and
others have unearthed. This was largely the work of the Ulster Historical
Foundation together with some input from the Tipperary North Family History
Foundation, the Tipperary Heritage Unit
and my own efforts trawling the Internet and obtaining documents from sources
in Co Antrim. Special thanks go the Parish Priest in Ballycastle, the
General Register Office in
Belfast and the research library at the Church of the Latter-day Saints in
Belfast.

 | Fogarty Photos -
some photos of my ancestors including Great Grandfather, John and his brother
James.
|
 | General Fogarty Information - this is just some general
stuff about the Fogarty name, and famous Fogartys that first appeared on the
now defunct Fogarty Family History site created by Jeff and Bridget Fogarty.
The content and links have updated.

 | Fogarty Family
Research Stuff - this holds the pages I copied off Jeff and
Bridget's Fogarty Page several years ago when my interest in Fogarty genealogy
first started. Since their site has disappeared I thought the research
information might be useful to other Fogarty researchers. I have added
a few more bits and pieces unearthed during my own researches.
